Supplement or hotel coupon. Additional copies of Conference publications
can be purchased onsite at the registration desks. Post-conference prices for
publications will be higher due to postage and handling costs; availability may
also be limited following the conference.
HOTEL RESERVATIONS
Conference participants are responsible for making their own hotel reservation
and for paying for all bills upon checkout. Please use the hotel reservations
form at the center of this booklet and either mail or fax it to the San
Francisco Marriott, with a check or credit card information to guarantee your
reservation, to:
San Francisco Marriott, 55 Fourth Street, San Francisco, CA 94103
Hotel RESERVATIONS FAX NUMBER is 415-442-0141
Hotel RESERVATIONS TELEPHONE NUMBER is 415-442-6755
It is vital that hotel reservations reach the Marriott by January 15, 1999.
After January 15, if rooms are available, they may not be at conference rates.
When contacting the San Francisco Marriott, be sure to tell them that you are
with "ISSCC" to obtain conference rates. You must include your fax number on
your hotel reservation form if you want a confirmation returned by fax.
Special conference rates will also be available on a limited basis prior to and
following the Conference. Room reservations should be made as soon as possible.
The hotel offers both non-smoking and handicap-accessible rooms.
CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS
In 1999 ISSCC offers a Short Course, "Fast Local Area Networks." The course
will be held at the San Francisco Marriott Hotel on February 18, the day after
the closing of ISSCC99. Short Courses will be filled on a
first-come-first-served basis. Please mark your choice on the registration
form. You will be notified of your time slot prior to the Conference. Further
information can be found on pages 60 and 61 of this booklet.
In 1999, ISSCC again offers a choice of up to 3 of a total of 6 tutorials on
February 14, the day before the official opening of the Conference. The
objective of these tutorials is to introduce you to the specialized circuit
areas that are the focus of ISSCC99. A maximum of 3 tutorials can be attended.
Please indicate your choices on the registration form including the start time
that you prefer and whether or not you want reassignment in case some of your
time choices are filled. You will receive a confirmation of your assignment
prior to the Conference. Further information can be found on pages 62 and 63 of
this booklet.
On Monday, February 15, there will be a Social Hour for all registrants from
5:00PM to 6:30PM in the Golden Gate Hall (on the level above the Ballroom).
Author Interviews for that day will be part of the Social Hour.
HOTEL COUPON
Each participant paying the member or non-member Conference registration fee
(this excludes students, speakers and members of the press) will be given a
coupon worth a credit of $100 toward a stay of two or more nights at the San
Francisco Marriott during the period of Feb. 14-17, 1999. This coupon will be
given to individual registrants with their registration packet. Use of the
coupon is limited to rooms available at the SF Marriott only. The coupon may be
redeemed at the Hotel Front Desk at any time after you have stayed two or more
nights and cannot be redeemed at all after Thursday, February 18. The coupon is
NOT redeemable in cash, nor can it be used at any other hotel. The coupon is
valid toward the cost of your room only, not incidentals. If two or more
attendees share a room, only one coupon can be honored for that room. The
combination of the lower rate plus the coupon will result in substantial
savings to you. However you MUST make your reservations well before January 15,
1999 to obtain the special Conference rates or a room at all. Please help
yourself and the Conference by booking your room early.
TRANSPORTATION
Those who drive automobiles to the Conference will find public parking lots
near the Marriott at locations shown on the map on page 4.
SFO Airporter provides transportation service from San Francisco International
Airport to the Marriott. Buses depart every 15-30 minutes, outside the baggage
claim areas, from the center island on the lower level of the airport. No
reservations are necessary. The price is $10 each way.
CONFERENCE PUBLICATIONS
Additional conference publications can be purchased at the Conference
Registration Desk. Prices are lower for purchases collected on site that do not
have to be shipped to the purchaser.
TECHNICAL BOOK DISPLAY
A number of technical publishers will have a collection of professional books
and textbooks on display. These books will be available for sale or order
onsite.
The book display will be located in the Golden Gate Hall located one level
above the ballroom and technical sessions. The book display will be open on
Monday and Tuesday from 8:00AM until 6:00PM. On Wednesday, the book display
