TE2 Will Analog Supply Follow Digital?

(Presidio)

Moderator/Organizer: Rinaldo Castello, University of Pavia, Pavia, Italy

The range os choices is between fully-integrated single-supply CMOS systems operating down to 1V supply at one extreme and multi-chip multi-technology multi-supply solution at the other. Intermediate possibilities include dual-supply single-chip CMOS or BiCMOS and multi-chip modules. There are questions of the feasibility of 1V supply analog circuits with good dynamic range and integration of large digital circuits with sensitive analog functions at this low supply. Testing is also critical, as is off-chip interfacing. On the other hand, the economic incentive for fully-integrated solutions is strong.
